I find the mish-mash of people and the range of activities makes this place endlessly fascinating. I guess it helps that I'm curious by nature -- exploring personalities and places is in my blood. I'm a true left-brain, right-brain hybrid. A scientist-artist, if you will. Luckily, between work and hobbies, I get to indulge both sides. It's easy to categorize people, but truth be told, I think the scientist-artist thing is a continuum, not an either/or. My demeanor is almost always jovial, but focused -- I may seem lighthearted, but I waste no opportunity get a sly joke into the conversation. In fact, the art of conversation is something I value pretty highly, whether it be my friends or a potential partner. There are a million different ways I enjoy spending free time (going to hear music, having friends over for dinner. I don't watch much TV, although since I got internet at home (just recently) I've gotten totally hooked on older episodes of 'Damages'! The weekend feels lacking if there's no time to sit down with a book and a good cup of coffee. (The latter is tougher than it sounds -- it's remarkably difficult to find good coffee around here away from Casa Mia) That's probably one of my handful of 'can't do without' habits!
