Privacy Policy
Last updated: [LAST_UPDATED]
1. Who is responsible for your data
[COMPANY_NAME], [COMPANY_ADDRESS], [COMPANY_REG_NUMBER], runs this website and decides how your personal data is used.
Questions about your data: [SUPPORT_EMAIL]
This policy works together with our Terms of Use: /content/view/legal-terms
2. What we collect
When you register: your name or nickname, email address, gender, the gender you are looking for, date of birth, location and profile photo.
When you fill in your profile: answers to optional profile questions, photos, videos and audio you upload.
When you use the website: messages you send, posts and comments, likes, ratings, poll answers, events you create, members you add to favourites or block.
Automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, pages you visit, time and date of visits, and cookies (see section 10).
If you allow it in the app: your location, so you can search for members near you. You can switch it off in your phone settings at any time.
If you sign in with a social network: the basic details you allowed that network to share — usually name, email, gender and date of birth. You can remove the connection in the settings of that social network.
If you pay: we receive confirmation that you paid and what you bought. We do not receive or store your card details. The licensed payment provider that processes your payment receives them.
3. Information that reveals more about you
On a dating website, some information says more about you than usual. The gender you are looking for may reveal your sexual orientation. Your profile may mention your religion, health or ethnic origin if you choose to write about them.
You decide whether to share this. When you add it to your profile, you agree that we store it and show it to other members as part of your profile. You can remove it at any time.
Think before you post: anything in your profile can be seen by other members.
4. Why we use your data
| What we do | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Create your account, show your profile, let you search and send messages | It is needed to provide the service you signed up for |
| Process your payments | It is needed to provide what you bought |
| Keep the website safe: stop spam, fake profiles and fraud, check reports about rule breaking | Our legitimate interest in a safe website, and yours |
| Send you notifications about messages and account activity | It is needed to provide the service; you can change which ones you get in your settings |
| Send you news and offers | Only with your consent; you can unsubscribe in any email |
| Understand how the website is used, so we can improve it | Our legitimate interest; see section 10 about cookies |
| Answer requests from authorities | Where the law requires it |
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Who can see your profile
Other members can see your profile: nickname, age, gender, location, photos and the answers you add. Your email address and exact location are not shown to other members.
Messages are seen by you and the person you write to. We may look at messages and content when someone reports them or when we need to check that the rules are followed.
6. Who we share your data with
We share only what each of them needs to do their job:
- hosting provider — stores the website and its data;
- email delivery service — sends you emails and notifications;
- payment provider — processes your payments;
- app stores — if you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, they process the payment under their own privacy policies.
- analytics service — shows us how the website is used, in summary form;
- advertising partners — only with your consent, see section 10.
We give the current list of these companies on request at [SUPPORT_EMAIL].
We also share data when the law requires it — for example, with police or a court — or when it is needed to protect someone's safety. If our business is sold or merged, your data passes to the new owner, who must follow this policy.
7. Data outside your country
Our server is in [HOSTING_COUNTRY]. Some of our service providers may be in other countries. When your data leaves the European Union or the United Kingdom, we use the legal safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your data while your account exists.
When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, messages and personal details straight away. We do not keep them.
Our backups are overwritten automatically within 30 days. Until then, deleted data may still exist in a backup, but nobody can see or use it.
The only exception is records of payments, which accounting and tax law requires us to keep for the period it sets. We keep only what that law requires.
Messages you sent to other members stay in their inbox, as a letter you posted stays with the person who received it.
9. Your rights
You can:
- see your data — most of it is in your profile and settings; for a full copy, write to us;
- correct it — in your profile, except gender and date of birth, which you can ask us to correct;
- delete it — see section 12;
- take a copy of the data you gave us, in a common format;
- object to our use of your data for legitimate interests, and to marketing at any time;
- withdraw consent you gave, at any time. It does not affect what we did before.
Write to [SUPPORT_EMAIL]. We answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm it is really you.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom: you also have the right to limit how we use your data while a question about it is being resolved, and the right to complain to a data protection authority. Ours is [DATA_AUTHORITY]; you can also complain to the authority in your own country.
Our representative in the EU or the UK: [EU_REPRESENTATIVE]
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law: you have the right to know what personal data we collect and why, to get a copy, to correct it and to have it deleted. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. You can send a request yourself or through someone you authorise.
10. Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores so the website remembers you.
We use:
- necessary cookies — to keep you logged in, remember your language and make chat and uploads work. The website does not work without them;
- analytics cookies — to count visits and see which pages work;
- advertising cookies — to show adverts that are more relevant to you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the website stop working.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom: we set analytics and advertising cookies only after you agree in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
11. How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures: secure connections, protected servers, limited staff access.
No website is perfectly secure. Use a strong password, do not share it, and log out on shared devices.
If a data breach puts you at risk, we will tell you without undue delay by email and on the website, and we will inform the authorities where the law requires.
12. Deleting your account and data
Yourself: Settings → Delete account → Delete profile permanently. Your account and data are deleted straight away and cannot be restored.
By request: write to [SUPPORT_EMAIL] from the email address of your account. We delete your account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and confirm by email.
13. Children
This website is only for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we delete the account and its data. If you believe a child is using the website, write to [SUPPORT_EMAIL].
14. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new date. If the change is important, we will also tell you by email or on the website.
