Me: Irish, literary, positive.. political, hot-blooded and passionate but can work the circuit, look good in heels, kind to animals, your mother will love me. I've broad interests, opera to Dylan, politics to philosophy, restoring old buildings, culinary arts.. the outdoors, the arts. I'll go to see a range of things, but if it's done with talent, that's usually the draw. Nature sings to me in ways that music sings to other people. I read: fiction, non-fiction, political thrillers, (I write political fiction), literature - Patrick Kavanagh, Blake, Beckett, Joyce, Heaney, Myles Na Gopaleen (aka Flann O'Brien), etc. - but I'm only reading bar exam notes right now. I don't care what you read (Sunday Times, etc.) but if you don't read, I won't understand you. You: Intelligent, independent, assertive, knows what he wants, goes out and gets it, sexy, solvent, capable of being committed, wants children, etc. I don't care what you do, so long as you love it and you're happy in your own skin. No negative people or emotionally unavailable people please! Oh, and no republicans. Sorry. What I want: I don't believe your partner is an appendage of you, or that couples need to be joined at the hip, or even need to share personal interests necessarily, but there needs to be a fundamental devotion there, and I believe that relationships that work are those where the couple are best friends.
