Here is some insight on who I truly am. My friends and I would call myself humble and uncomfortable with too much attention/accolades though I've been quiet successful. I am introspective and have a keen sense of self. I?m completing my bachelor arts degree (some f*&%ing day) in progressive approaches to clinical psychology. I have a remarkable intuition and I?m starting to think I have ESP or ?I? have been ?here? before. I am agnostic but come from a happy catholic household. What Catholic doesn't have a change of faith sometimes? : ) My family is ridiculously funny and the better than yours ; ). My mother is each of our hero; she is amazing. Dad is too but still?. I?ve only been successful when going with my heart (I can?t blame anyone for that ONE time my heart was wrong) but most times I don?t trust people. I've lived in the Bay area, it was most favorite after 3yrs :( I miss my friends everyday):, Orange County, Columbus, OH and Hawaii are on the list too. I am back home in Las Vegas now where I returned after accepting a full time position in Multicultural Affairs at Nevada State College. Why did I come back/stay? (this question is asked to me everyday) First, the money brought me back (try living in Hawaii for any length of time). Second, Las Vegas is my native soil, if one can survive coming back home?he/she can survive anything. Being home feels like the first time. I'm learning more and more about my ability to ignore the ignorant. I?m argumentative and defensive when I feel underestimated, ignorant people always underestimate you. It?s really called intimidation but I digress. I am always underestimated because I?m an "angry" black woman; confrontation comes with the package in a world of glass ceilings, revolving doors, conservative views and racism.
