About me:

I guess you should know my name. It's Amanda. I'm pretty much an ethnic hybrid of Eastern Europe and the Middle East. I love all different kinds of people, and one of my lesser goals is to travel around the world. I love museums, tarot cards, astrology, and cooking. I've written my own cookbook, and I find thunderstorms incredibly soothing and exhilarating at the same time. I feel as comfortable in a pair of stilettos and a Little Black Dress as I do in a pair of skinny jeans and sneakers. I write poetry, and I'm currently working on a novel. I always have music playing, and I think a soundtrack is more than just background music - it's the backbone of a film. I'm not "hip" enough to be a Mac person, and I'm not sorry about it. My favorite word is "tempestuous" for good reason - I try to live my life, and not simply exist. I was not raised in Staten Island. I lived in Brooklyn for most of my life, then to a place near Westchester, and then I moved to DC, then moved to Staten Island. So no, I don't have a Staten Island accent. I have a bland NY-tinted one. However, when I get angry my Brooklyn accent unearths itself. It never helps my case. Usually people just laugh and tell me I sound cute. Not helpful. I'm studying international relations, with a focus on the Middle East. I love to travel, and will do anything I can to climb up the career path and be entirely self-sufficient. Music is also a huge part of my life, and I enjoy listening to mainly indie, although I am open-minded about different kinds of music.
