About me:
I'm a journalist (specifically, an editor at a small daily newspaper, and do some freelance writing for other places also), and would never, ever do anything else, even though the whole profession is sort of collapsing on itself. I'm very much into current events and politics, and probably wouldn't have much to talk about with someone who isn't at least moderately interested in the news also. I'm sort of a contrarian by nature: I'm a huge college football fan, but spend the rest of my time reading obscure 19th century history books while sitting in a coffee shop; I also run 5-8 miles a day, but have no problem eating a huge cheeseburger immediately afterward. I buy a lot of girly dresses, only to realize 5 minutes later that 99 percent of the time I wear a T-shirt, jeans and Converse. I love to spend time with my family and friends, do anything around the beach, experiencing new restaurants and places. I believe it's more about the person that you're with than what you're doing that makes it special or fun. I like going to bars once in a while with my friends just to relax and hang out. In the future, I really want to travel to Europe and other countries.
