About me:

I am a real life-long learner--always exploring and eager to learn. I listen to recorded lectures, watch documentaries, and read a lot. My interests are varied and many; everything from theoretical physics to the history of christian monasticism to the geopolitical importance of salt, to name just a few things 8-). I'm very accepting and non-judgemental, and this has led to my having a lot of weird and different sorts of friends over the years, since I find something to appreciate in almost everyone. I am kind and generous, and wear my heart on my sleeve, even though this has burned me a lot in the past. You can expect me to be kind and chivalrous at all times. I'm working hard and to good effect to lose the weight, but it will be a while before I'm fit and trim again. I hope you can look past this. I am usually pursuing some sort of craft or construction project and love to build things and work with my hands. I'm a fan of Ren Fairs, nature, the mountains, tea, meditation, and too many other things to name. I love little adventures to new places or trying something new, and would love to share them with someone. I don't really dance (I guess I'm just too shy) and bars and clubs aren't really my scene. I'm just an introvert by nature. That said, I'd regard it as a fun opportunity to be thrust into unfamiliar settings (including bars and clubs) if you feel like it. I'm often silly, witty, mischievous, and playful, with a great sense of humor and I know how to enjoy myself. I hope you can be playful too! I have a deep sense of the beauty of the world, and a very positive view of it. My favorite food is probably artichokes. My favorite color is emerald green (I like jewel tones in general, though). Terry Pratchett is my favorite author. I love Irish music, and Ireland itself. Fall is my favorite season.
