About me:

I'm someone who sees each day as an opportunity to experience fresh stories worth retelling filled with comedy, sadness, love, joy, fear, and hope. I have seen more parts of the world than I ever dreamed. I pay attention to how my food tastes, what certain textures feel like, what kind of music would go great with particular environments. I look into people's eyes when they talk. Though I might not care about what they're saying, at least they'll know that they're important enough to be listened to. I love learning. Traveling has been a significant mentor in my desire to understand more about myself and the world around me. This is part of the reason why I love teaching writing and reading. They both stretch me to look into other worlds and discover other parts of myself and others. In short, I love learning. I believe in kindness. I believe the words "I'm sorry" should not be substituted with a "My bad" at times. I'd consider myself a compassionate person, I can also be incredibly sarcastic. This gets me in trouble teaching at times. How those two work together, well, let's just say I'm certainly not rid of complications. I know I often think too much, never allowing a dull moment for my relentless brain. For me, I've had to learn to not take myself too seriously, and mistakes are simply opportunities to grow. I love music, art, culture, traveling, sports, sampling new foods and geeking out with wine pairings. Running has become more and more therapeutic, to the point where I'm addicted. Yoga.
