About me

About me:
Addendum: Just last night, I went to Mountain Bar in Chinatown. My guy friend had just left to go to the loo, and I was alone at the bar, sipping on an amaretto sour when a man approached me. He was gutsy enough to say, "I'm not going to bullshit you. I will fly you to Europe if you leave with me tonight." My response, "I'm not looking to be hacked into pieces and have my remains mailed back to my parents." Look, there's a difference between pampering me, and insulting me with your money. I know I'm quite young, even to be dating on the internet. But moving to LA has been a big change for me since the only place I've lived in California was the Bay Area. My dates have never been younger than 23 from when I was 17. I don't have many friends within my age group, solely because I find myself constantly bored trying to have a conversation. That said, I've been acquaintanced with too many lawyers, movie producers, aspiring actors, and rock stars to really give it another go at the local pub or lounge. I'm really trying to seek some intelligence in this huge city, so indulge me in your company and subside my growing disenchantment. I enjoy all kinds of music (literally, I have Tibetan throat music on my Ipod), but favorites include, and are not limited to, Talking Heads, Pixies, Beirut, M. Ward, Mirah, Yann Tiersen, Glenn Gould, and Rilo Kiley. My parents exposed me to operas at an extremely young age. We watched Falstaff and even though I couldn't understand Welsh, I appreciated the emotional entities that spawned from baritones and dramatic music. I haven't been to the movies in years, I do enjoy international and independent films very much. I am an avid rock climber, but I am also involved in archery, sailing, and slack-lining. I am a healthnut, though with the right company, I am willing to go on food vacations. I've been cooking ever since I was little, since my mother made it clear to me that I was going to be no good to my husband if I didn't know how. Thanks Mom. To be frank, I'm a really independent person. I pay for my own tuition, car, clothes, meals, fun outings with friends, and I don't rely on my trust fund to get me through life. I've grown up with the affluent and I was tired of it when college began. On the flip side, as progressive as the people I meet tend to be, there are habits that people don't quite understand (such as the issue of splitting the check or not being able to grab some gelato because they have to save up for books). I'm seeking someone who understands and lives the lifestyle, but also holds intelligence in high regard.
