About me:

I am a single, divorce' who loves God, family and people. Nothing is more important to me than loving God, providing familial support and connecting with and helping people. One trait I love about myself is that I love to laugh. I am full of joy and very vibrant. I have been told than I am easily excited, but that's because I'm so full of joy, which I believe is internal and is a state of mind. I'd prefer to have joy, over happiness, because I believe happiness is temporary and based on things or occurrences, whereas joy is a state of being. I also enjoy writing, reading self-help books, and spending time with my adult children, of which I have 5. I am very proud of having raised all my children and putting them through college on full academic scholarships. My children are my pride and joy and education is extremely important to me; therefore, I raised them on college campuses and had them to participate in academic enrichment programs on campuses, since they were kindergardeners. As a single, divorced parent, I was blessed to have the motivation and ambition to cultivate my children, nurture their intellect, and work on 4 college degrees, one bachelor's, two master's and lastly, my PhD, which I intend to complete in 2010. Currently, I am completing my dissertation. My dissertation subject is regarding retaining African American males in college, as I believe that educating African American men will strengthen the family unity, which in turn strengthens our global society. I am very family- oriented and have excellent people and public speaking skills, although one-on-one, I can come across as shy, at times. Lastly, I am very feminine, spiritual and confident. I love who I am as an individual and I'm very comfortable in my own skin, especially after I turned 40!!
