About me

About me:

I am a former merchant marine officer who used to drive ships around the world for about six months at a time. The rest of the year I would take off traveling with a backpack and a surfboard and enjoyed the life style of a vagabond. I had many great adventures, got into plenty of trouble (in a good way), and survived many crazy dangerous situations at sea(think the T. V. show world deadliest catch). After several years of this rambling, I moved to Santa Cruz on a whim, found a job and decided to give having a home an honest try. Almost three years later I am still here and am so grateful to have made the difficult decision to leave my previous career behind. I currently work for a conservation group in Santa Cruz which protects open space and sensitive habitats in the county. I am very active and fit but also am a bit of a nerd and can spend days lost in a book. When I?m playing outside surfing and rock climbing are my passions. I also love yoga, running, hiking, and backpacking, skateboarding, and snowboarding. At a different time in my life I also raced sailboats at the international level and had a student pilots license. When I?m indoors I love reading, music, meditation, and making vegan food. I am also going to school part time to learn how to be a therapist and am working on building a practice here in city.
