. I keep finding things that I'd like to do, but that would be more fun with someone else - like going to see something at the Kennedy Center. Or going to the Christian Heurich House, or any of the more random historical sites around here. I think the most important thing to know about me is that I don't have one Thing that defines me. I'm more about balance. I'm an introvert in the sense that when I need to recharge, I need to be alone. But, I enjoy meeting new people, especially people with interesting stories. I love to eat good food, which doesn't necessarily mean fancy food. I really like my job, but I don't really like talking about it outside of work. Same thing with my education - I have lots of it, but the way to my heart is most definitely not to ask me about my thesis research. I have to be active. I love going to the gym and I just don't feel as good if I don't go several times a week. I am the worlds slowest swimmer. I'm not much of a runner - my knees just can't take it. I'd love someone to go rollerblading with, but it seems rollerblading is something only gay men do these days... Other things about me: I love dogs and my dream in life is to get a dog. I can't walk past a dog without stopping to say hi to it. I can't live without chocolate, tomatoes or basil. I love baking. I think I have five types of flours and four types of sugar in my cabinets at the moment. I'm not really an outdoors girl, despite having spent five years in Minnesota. I'd be willing to try hiking though, especially now that I learned -the hard way- that one must waterproof their own hiking boots. And I think a lot of people are kind of freaked out by the "I don't drink alcohol" thing. I wish they had another option, "I don't drink alcohol but don't mind other people drinking". Smoking is a different issue, however. Gray wool sweaters, going out for ice cream on rainy days, tomatoes, basil, fresh cherries in the summer, my green le creuset dutch oven, fluffy dogs, cake with sugary icing, seeing movies at the theater, my ice skates (size 4 Bauer Supreme 3000s.
