--I?m a die-hard romantic, even though my rational side constantly warns me of the perils of sentimentality. I?ve been accused of being ?sensitive,? so I?ll fess up - that term probably applies well to me. I?m funny that way. -- If you?re looking for a fellow who is enamored with the latest in pop culture, I?m not your man. I?m a bit of a movie buff, although my curious blend of film tastes runs from very good films to very bad ones, and not much in between. -- I have a fairly distinct set of political values, being an old-school Kennedy-style liberal (i. e., pragmatist that always sides with the have-nots). I find public service a compelling way of life, even if tedious at times. -- I still feel that the best way to travel is with a backpack, a rail pass, and a copy of ?Let?s Go!? Still, I won?t force any mode of travel on a companion. I?ll just be happy having company. -- I easily get distracted by the calm intellectual type. This is not to say that a vivacious party-animal would be unwelcome, mind you, but I'm not in my element in slick bars and loud dance clubs. Also, I don't drink, but I don't have any issues with social drinkers. -- A few cliches apply to my preferences: down-to-earth, great sense-of-humor, and emotionally stable. The first two are guidelines, the third is a rule. -- I?m generally on the opposite side of the culture wars from the fashionistas out there. Judging people by their shoes is just not my thing. Still, if a hot salsa dancer in stilettos threw herself at me, would I recoil? Geez, I am a guy, after all?
