I like to laugh and dance and be silly. Very much an extrovert, I thrive in most social situations. It doesn't take much to get me to play in the sun. Music has a direct impact on my mood, and my interests range from classic rock and 80's to jazz and classical. I love to listen to electronic music, particularly house, and have been known to dance until dawn. I attend festivals and warehouse parties that focus on art and music, and my closet has as many funky costumes and hats in it as t-shirts. That said, I look damn good in a dress, can hold my own at cocktail parties, but prefer the after hours when strangers let their guard down. I cherish my close friends because they embody so many of the characteristics I hold most dear: creativity, imagination, honesty, reliability, kindness, compassion, and an ability to communicate. They challenge me to grow and learn, and I seek to return the favor. They also tend to be social butterflies, so rarely does a week go by without a party or event to bring us all together. Fortunately, I know how and when I need to recharge my batteries, and appreciate quiet mornings as much as those nights when I get to chill out with some wine, watch TV, and catch up with my roommate. Ah, wine. It makes me so happy! (BTW, my drinking "regularly" really just reflects my job and my tendency to open a bottle of wine or beer when I get home from work. I'm not a total lush... Though I can hold my own.) I really do love Washington. I know that some folks see only a city characterized by politics, power, and people with goals to make themselves larger than life. But I see a large, beautiful village rich with culture and history, ethnically diverse, and full of individuals seeking happiness in their own unique ways. It took me a few years to find myself in this town, let alone find others to whom I could relate. But I did it, and I wouldn't trade it up for the world.... well, maybe Barcelona... I like The Discovery Channel, House, Heroes, 24, Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, and animated films. Thai and Indian food, mac n cheese, and all tasty veggie cuisine = yum. Electronic music (house, breaks, electro, downtempo), rock, and jazz. Burningman.
