About me:
'm the product of new-agey parents and a small town upbringing, which means that I endured a childhood full of farmers, accountants, and other Red State usual suspects scrutinizing my parents, who were prone to contorting themselves in various yoga poses during soccer matches, PTA meetings, and the like. The rest of my charmed childhood involved county fairs, tofu, summer camp, board games, PBS, bagging groceries, Boy Scouts, practicing Krav Maga on my younger brother, kayaking, student government, and inclement weather (John Mellencamp did the soundtrack). At the ripe age of 15, I fell in love with the movies and decided that my energies could best be put to use answering telephones and fetching coffee, but before doing so, I thought it prudent to get two liberal arts degrees and travel through Europe, where I learned how to say "This train smells like feet" and "Where's the nearest Chinese restaurant?" in Czech. The rest, as they say, is history. I travel in are pretty small and I'm not really into the bar/club scene, so this seemed like a logical recourse. Also, unlike the personals on Craigslist, I think there's a substantially smaller chance of me ending up dismembered in someone's freezer or the subject of a Dateline special.
