“Here is a short account on how my partner Sian and I successfully met on FirstMet.
I had recently renewed my membership and was chatting with a member whom I got along with but shared different values, so we’d agreed to just be friends and keep looking for an ideal partner. That’s when I received an icebreaker from Sian. She had selected to send out an icebreaker message to users that fit her filters to start a conversation and luckily for me, I was one of them. Neither of us would likely have messaged the other personally, as our locations were so far apart. Sian lived in Devon and myself in Dagenham Essex.
I decided to respond and turns out we did seem to share a lot of similar interests! I found our conversations were full of humor and mutual feelings that drew us closer over the next few weeks. It wasn’t long until we exchanged numbers and I was eager to call Sian to arrange a date and time to meet.
Our first face-to-face meeting was arranged when Sian decided she would come and stay with me at my home in Dagenham for several days. A time and train trip was arranged and our first meeting was at Waterloo Station in London around mid March. We got on the train together and felt the same magnetism during our first meeting as we do now! We have been together ever since and are making plans for our future, hoping to move in together soon.
